Skallgrímsgarður is one of the main public spaces in Borgarnes. There is the mound of Skallagrím Kveldúlfsson and Böðvar Egilsson. On the other side of Borgarbraut, on the so-called Kveldúlfsvelli, there is Kveldúlf's mound, but little is known about it. Both of these mounds are listed as the main landmarks of Borgarness on maps from the beginning of the 20th century, and there is an idea to create a connection between them with a new central square. In this project, there is an interest in exploring the attitudes and ideas of Borgarnes’ residents, how it would be best to use such a square and what it could look like.
