The project is about pre-designing an area for a new downtown square between Skallagrímsgarð and Kveldúlfsvallar (Skallagrímstorg/Kveldúlfstorg), a square at Brákarbraut north of Brákareyjarbrúar (Landnámstorg/Brákartorg) and a streetscape between these areas. The project is about public participation, research, consultation and initial design on public spaces and is a continuation of the study on the organization of Borgarnes, which was carried out by Alternance slf for Borgarbyggð. Emphasis is placed on the overall context and on an improved streetscape. The proportions and type of buildings, use, surface finish, green areas, street data and parking are part of the preliminary design.

Data and results will be compiled so that they can be used in the preparation of a new master plan for Borgarbyggð.
